For the dedicated ‘Free-to-Play’ (F2P) user, reaching the top of the leaderboards requires immense patience and an absolute mastery of the game’s internal economy.
Every single gold coin and green gem must be managed with the precision of a corporate accountant.
Managing the Ultimate Bottleneck
The absolute worst mistake a F2P player can make is upgrading every single card in their collection evenly.
You must brutally focus all of your gold entirely on your primary ‘Main Deck’—the eight cards you plan to use on the competitive ladder.
- Participate heavily in Gold Rush events.
- If you must change decks, try to pick a new deck that shares at least 3 or 4 cards with your old deck.
- Do not upgrade Legendary cards unless they are absolutely critical to your win condition.
Hoarding Gems
As a free player, you will slowly accumulate a small stash of premium gems from daily chests and achievements.
The only mathematically sound use for premium gems is entering ‘Global Tournaments’ or ‘Classic/Grand Challenges’.
