this internship and no benefits, nor any future employment rights. Service is not creditable for
leave accrual.

Position: Student Intern in the Health Unit

Duration of Internship: Approximately three months.
The Health Unit at the U.S. Embassy in Sofia is looking to recruit а student intern to support the
office day-to-day activities. We are looking for university students with enthusiasm, initiative,
excellent communication skills, and a strong interest in administrative support. Upon successful
completion of the internship, a certificate and a reference letter may be provided.
Basic Function of Position:
The primary purpose of the intern is to provide administrative assistance to the Health Unit,
supporting various Health Unit functions and day-to-day operations.
- Provide general administrative support to the Health Unit team as needed. Primarily duties are
filing, scanning and organizing documents. - Assist with correspondence and document organization.
Qualifications requirements:
- Must be a student at any higher education institution and be advanced in his/her studies
towards a university degree with a major including but not limited to: Public or Hospital
Administration Business Administration, International Relations, Human Resources Management. - Good working knowledge speaking/reading/writing in Bulgarian and English is
required. - Must have:
o Good communication and writing skills;
o Ability to work individually and in a team;
o Good customer service;
o Good digital skills – internet environment
Eligibility criteria:
- Bulgarian citizen or permanent legal resident of Bulgaria.
- Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of participation in the program and to have
graduated high school. - Students must be enrolled in less than half-time in an accredited education institution.
- Applicants have to be in good academic standing at their current educational institution and
must provide a certified transcript verifying this and that they are currently enrolled. - Be able to work at least 20 hours per week.
- Must be a continuing student upon completion of the internship.
- After selection, the student must receive security certification before receiving a formal
offer of internship.
